Injured in an accident? How long you have to claim

If you have been injured through someone else’s fault, you may be entitled to compensation. In most cases you have three years from the date of the accident to start a claim.
What to do after an accident
- Get medical help and keep records of treatment.
- Take photos and collect witness details.
- Keep receipts for any costs or lost earnings.
Different rules apply to children and to criminal injury claims, so take advice early.
