Dismissed? Don’t miss the tribunal time limit
7 Sep 2026 · 3 min read
If you think you have been unfairly dismissed or discriminated against, time matters. Most claims must be started within three months less one day of the dismissal or act complained of.
Before you claim
- You must usually contact ACAS for early conciliation first.
- Keep copies of your contract, payslips, emails and letters.
- Write down dates and what was said while it is fresh.
We advise both employees and employers. Speak to us as early as possible.
